Facebook Paid Ads

Paid Ads Improve Reach and Post Performance

According to the 2013 Social Rich Media Benchmark Report (ShopIgniter), promoting your Facebook posts with a paid ad increases organic and viral reach significantly but reduces click-throughs.

Promoting Facebook posts with paid ads increases reach but reduces CTR.

Key Takeaways:

Paid ads make a big difference on Facebook—at least in terms of reach and impressions. But before you start investing in Facebook ads, think about your target audience, focus on your marketing goals and understand how different post types perform when they’re promoted with ads.

Paid ads are used for promotional content, which by default draws less engagement than non-promotional content.

But if you’re trying to build your email list (you’ll need folks to click through to a landing page), then paying to promote the post might be a waste of cash, according to the research.

And don’t forget, whenever you want people to click, give them lots of images!

I am a very visual being, attracted visually by objects, which I like to arrange sensually to attract the eye. This habit carries into all I do including my social profiles.

Attract more views with your profile using higher resolution cover images and larger media items in your post to at least 480 X 270 pixels.

Facebook cover, timeline and banners. Over 7K images to choose from at Facebook Timeline Banner with easy, simple “how to” instructions.

LinkedIn has the ability to add media to profiles. Few eligible users are currently taking advantage of this opportunity! Do you have access to these features? Check it out… log into your profile and click the pencil icon found in the Edit Profile area of your Summary, Expertise and Experience sections. If you see a small icon labeled “Add Media,” you’ll be able to. Need help? Send me a message.

Are you taking advantage of your Twitter profile headers? If you see large number of plain grey rectangles in your profile, you have not taken that step. You can create your own with the free Twitter header templates and Header Creator tool. And you can now post Vine 6 second videos to spice up your posts.

Google+ added a prompt to change the cover images for your profiles with the March update. The new profile pages allow for cover photos that are much larger than before (2120px by 1192px) to give you room to move.

Pinterest has moved forward with its own redesign featuring simplified navigation, larger “pins” and enhanced social sharing tools – currently offered on an opt-in basis. To gain access to these features, you’ll need to click the Get it Now button that appears at the top of your profile upon login.

stuck on the freeway? dial “#399”

The Freeway Service Patrol (FSP) is a joint program provided by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and the local transportation agency. The FSP program is a free service of privately owned tow trucks that patrol designated routes on congested urban California freeways.  read more >>>

If you get stuck on the freeway
because your automobile stops running, FPS can help.

FSP will:

  • Offer you a gallon of gas, if you run out.
  • “Jump start” your car if the battery is dead.
  • Refill your radiator and tape hoses.
  • Even change a flat tire.

FSP will not:

  • Cannot tow your vehicle to a private repair service or residence.
  • Does not recommend tow service companies, repair or body shops.
  • Does not tow motorcycles.
  • Does not assist vehicles which have been involved in accidents, unless directed by CHP.
  • Does report any accident to the CHP.

If FSP cannot get your car going, it will be towed free of charge to a location approved by the CHP. The FSP will also contact additional assistance for you. The CHP will notify an auto club or towing service.

The FSP serves the following areas:

  • Valley Division – Sacramento, Yolo, Placer, El Dorado and San Joaquin counties
  • Golden Gate Division – Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, Santa Clara, San Francisco, San Mateo, Solano, and Sonoma counties
  • Central Division – Fresno county
  • Southern Division – Los Angeles county
  • Border Division – San Diego and Orange counties
  • Coastal Division – Monterey, Santa Cruz, and Santa Barbara counties
  • Inland Division – Riverside and San Bernardino counties
